FAQ
1. Can Solstus Solar software be used with other brands of inverters and batteries?
As of the Writing of this article Solstus only supports Axpert type inverters such as the King, MKSII, VMIII and Max series. We might look at adding Growatt as well later but we first need to get our hands on one and setup a test lab system…
2. What are the key advantages of integrating Axpert Inverters and Pylontech Batteries with Solstus Solar software?
You get to have everything working together, in one central clean and easy to understand dashboard. No messing around with complicated Inverter menu’s.
3. Are there specific installation requirements for implementing this integrated solution in residential or commercial settings?
For Solstus Software no, you do however need a PC or Raspberry Pi capable of running the software and optional cabling for Pylontech and Inverter comms.
4. How does the collaboration between Solstus Solar, Axpert Inverters, and Pylontech Batteries contribute to overall energy efficiency and cost savings?
You will be able to track your power usage over periods of time and based on that data you can adjust your lifestyle to suite your energy needs better. Knowing is half the batter after all.
5. How many Inverters can Solstus query at the same time?
Right now Solstus can query up to 3 inverters, provided they are all linked in parallel.
6. Why is only Pylontech supported in Solstus ?
While we would love to add more support for other manufacturers we do not have access to the required documentation or hardware to develop proper stable support for batteries such as Hubble, Blue Nova, Telsa Power Wall and so others.
The biggest problem is that each BMS is different and there is no industry standard for a single protocol or communication port even. We choose Pylontech as its one of the leading brands here in South Africa.
